Wet n Wild Max Volume Plus Mascara Review

Advertisements

About a month ago, I picked up a new drugstore mascara when I needed something for my lashes. So I picked up the Wet n Wild Max Volume Plus Mascara for $4.99 at the drugstore. As I stated, I just needed something for my lashes and I wish I had honestly grabbed something else. But before I get into my experience with this mascara, let’s go over the claims from Wet n Wild on this mascara.

Claims

This headlining mascara is not for the faint of heart, blowing out your amps and intensifying your natural lashes. To keep your stage figure, this rockstar is formulated with macadamia nut, jojoba, and olive oils for conditioning, and enriched with D-Panthenol to help strengthen lashes. And its show-stopping, proprietary brush lifts, separates, and extends for extreme voluminous lashes – no clumping or smudging. So grip the wand like a mic, crank up the volume, and lash out loud for your new mascara hero!

  • Developed in the US
  • Conditions with antioxidants from macadamia nut, jojoba, and olive oils, and formulated with D-Panthenol to help strengthen lashes
  • Proprietary brush for perfect application!
  • In a blind testing, our formula outperformed America’s Top Mascara!

My Experience

I can be quite picky about my mascaras, considering I do not like false lashes. I always fail to put them on, don’t like the added weight on my eyes, and just get overall irritated by them. So I want a mascara that can take my lashes to the next level. Now I’m not looking for a mascara to make them into something they are not. But I want a mascara that I can tell has something on them while also giving them a longer and fuller look. My favorites currently being NYX Worth the Hype Mascara, Tarte Maneater Mascara, and Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara.

Now, what I’ve seen from other people who have tried this mascara was it was incredible. And they didn’t get clumps or spider like lashes… While I do agree this mascara gives your lashes a lot of lashes, I did see clumps everywhere as time went on while wearing the mascara, which is not at all how I like my lashes to look. Also it didn’t stay nice looking throughout the day. It starts to flake off all over your cheeks and some of the flakes for me went into my eyes and irritated the crap out of them. I ended up taking off what makeup I had applied just so I didn’t have to deal with the mascara after four hours. Maybe I just got a bad tube but this mascara is going in the trash as I’m not going to donate something that has come near my eyeballs.

Have you tried this mascara? If so, did you have a similar experience or something completely different?
