Fall has arrived along with the freezing cold temperatures and already the first snowfall, so my skin is dry as hell. And instead of wearing a full coverage foundation, I’ve surprisingly been wanting less coverage. But still something to even out the skin and provide some moisture. So, I’ve been trying to get into tinted moisturizers. Specifically I’ve been trying out the Florence by Mills Like a Light Skin Tint and ColourPop Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer. Since these aren’t really foundations, I’m not going to put them in my foundation comparison/ranking post. And will just be doing the one comparison between the two.
Florence by Mills Like a Light Skin Tint
The first tinted moisturizer is from Millie Bobby Brown’s new makeup/skin care line called Florence by Mills. They are cruelty free and vegan, and she’s launched a variety of products during her initial launch. However, the only one I have gotten to try thus far is the Like a Light Skin Tint. It’s supposed to be a non-greasy tinted moisturizer to give you a dewy finish. Which is not exactly my cup of tea for finishes. But it is infused with several moisturizing ingredients including: Meadowfoam Seed Oil (antioxidant hydrator), Squalene (natural moisturizer made from olives), and Jojoba Oil. This tinted moisturizer comes in 20 shades with 1.0 fl oz for $18.
One of the first things I notice from this tinted moisturizer is the smell. It reminds me a lot of PAM cooking grease. This doesn’t last all day but it is enough that of the two tinted moisturizers I don’t reach for this one as much. This one also takes a bit more work to blend into the skin, which I fine slightly odd considering how light coverage this is. It can be patchy when blended out with a sponge or brush, and even with using my hands it’s not always the best. But once you get it in place and blended, it’s fine and lasts almost through the entire day. You just have to get it there. For a tinted moisturizer, I don’t want to have to work at getting it just right. I want to use it for rush application, so I can get out of the door.
ColourPop Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer
Next up is ColourPop’s tinted moisturizer which comes in 24 shades for $14 and contains 1.45 fl oz (43 ml). This is the one that I reach for the most of the two as it’s easy to apply and blend out on the skin. Plus there’s no strange smell with this one. The main two ingredients in this product is hyaluronic acid (known to hydrate and support healthy looking skin) and coconut water (known to support hydration and skin softness). I love how easy this tinted moisturizer is to apply in the morning as I can use one to two pumps to cover my whole face within a minute. And it doesn’t matter what I’m using for application: brush, sponge or hand, any of them blend it out smoothly on my skin. Plus, I love that it has a natural finish and my skin feels nice after wearing it.
So ultimately, if you’re deciding between the two I would go for ColourPop Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer over Florence by Mills Like a Light Skin Tint. Have any other cruelty free tinted moisturizers you like? Let me know as I would love to try them since I’m currently loving these for work days at the moment.

Hi! I was just wondering what shade you are in both of the tinted moisturisers (colour pop and Florence). Thank you!

I use Fair 4N for ColourPop and F020 for Florence by Mills. Both are fair with neutral undertones.
