The other night, my roommate took me along to the All American Rejects and Dashboard Confessional Concert. She had won the tickets from Emo Night LA on Twitter for something they were doing. These are both bands that I absolutely loved growing up (junior/senior high school). Which I had an absolute blast at, so vlog/videos from the concerts as well as a few photos is down below but I wanted to for the day talk about concerts in general.
Rose and I at All American Rejects and Dashboard Confessional Concert
Concerts are the one place I feel most at home and myself. You can just lose yourself into the music and at least for a moment everything going on outside doesn’t matter. It’s the place where you are surrounded by others and at the same time by yourself. Everyone around you is in the same place, there is no judgement. It doesn’t matter your skin color or gender or sexual orientation, in the crowd you are all the same. And I love that. It’s refreshing.
Some of my favorite parts of concerts is when the artists have sing along parts as it gives an almost spiritual element to the show. Especially with Dashboard Confessional last night. It was something I hadn’t experienced for a long time at concerts. I can’t really describe it. But you just feel yourself being carried away with the music… similar to how I feel some times at worship events at church.

I also cannot wait for the new Dashboard Confessional album to drop. Some of the songs they sung at the concerts, I can already tell are going to be some of my favorites.
What is your favorite part of concerts?
