Newest Family Member: Winnie Bear

A week ago, I helped my mom and sister pick out a brand new dog that's two to three years old. She was originally named Winnie, which I love because I think it would be cute to call her Winnie Bear. But since I'm technically just the aunt, I don't get a say and they are still figuring out what the final name will be. I'll keep you updated on what her final name will be once I learn it. But for right now I'm calling her Winnie.…
View PostIrresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions | AD

For a few months I have been debating on getting hair extensions and have been researching it to death as I miss my long hair that I've been trying to grow back for over a year now. And one brand that I kept coming across was Irresistible Me, so when they asked if I wanted to try out their clip in hair extensions and write a honest review about it I was very excited. Especially as Silky Touch is made of 100% Remy human hair so it's easy to wash, style, cut and color (if need be). It also decreases slightly towards the end like normal hair so it looks more natural when blended into your hair.…
View PostAdult Night at Minnesota Zoo

So one thing I really wanted to do for my birthday was go to the zoo, but in Minnesota it ends up just being a massive crowd of parents with children to the point where it's hot, sticky, and you can't see over them to look at the animals especially when you're five feet two inches tall. My sister, Lucy, discovered we could go to the zoo when there wasn't any of that. Minnesota Zoo was offering starting this summer once a month, a time where it's adults only at the zoo for two and a half hours. So no crowds, no filters, and booze. Sign me up! …
View PostOff-Lease Dog Parks with Pixie

In the Twin Cities there aren't a lot of open fields or places to take your dog that loves to run that don't require you have a lease. And a long lease doesn't cut it as they have limitations on the length of lease in many of these places. So finding an off-lease dog park is a must with having a dog who goes zero to sixty after a tennis ball. And I mean that quite literally... while maybe not the speed part. But if there is a tennis ball being thrown, nothing else matters in the world to her. And a six feet limit is not going to cut it. She wants to run 30 to 50 yards after the ball. If not more. …
View PostBath Bomb Lush Haul

One thing I have come to enjoy a lot are bath bombs. To the point where I ended up using my mom's Christmas present because I didn't realize they were hers and not mine. So I went to Lush with my best friend/roommate Kiki who works there part time, and got eight bath bombs (six of which are for my mom). As well as two other items to pamper myself with as everything I've been trying out for my eyes have been epic fails causing my eyelids to be dry and itchy.…
View PostTips for Battling Anxiety and Panic Attacks

On an almost monthly basis, I become overwhelmed with anxiety or encounter panic attacks. Mainly because I automatically bottle up all emotions until they reach a breaking point, often without realizing that I'm doing that in the first place. And these attacks can be crippling taking away complete focus or time away from other things I need to be doing like work, everyday life, or activities. And it's really hard to snap out of them and resume what I was doing previously. I am by no means a subject matter expert in this area but I have learned quite a few things to help when these attacks come on. And just dealing with anxiety in general. Which I thought would be helpful to share.…
View PostLife Lately | April 2016

I have not done a life lately since February, let me know if you guys would like these on a monthly basis. I like writing these as they're one of the ways I can look back and reflect on everything that's happened. Last time I did one of these I had a lot going on in my life. This month has had several key items but nowhere as many as February. Just as I did for the month of February I will break everything into area of my life though they are all really combined. But I think it makes more organizational sense this way.…

Something that not many people don’t know is that Pixie is a very shy or fearful dog. One day she will be totally fine with a person or dog and the next she is completely terrified. She’s gotten a lot better over the years through training and working on ways…
