Hey Howl Pack

It’s Mae Polzine! I started this blog back in 2015 to be a place where I could be creative and share things that I love. So, I post a variety of things. I stream a variety of things (gaming, body paint, art, etc.) on Twitch multiple times a week, with stream highlights and all VODs posted on my YouTube Channel.

Lastly, join our Discord to chat with other pack members. We have a great and supportive community over there. I love talking with everyone in Discord as it’s a great way to connect. Also, I offer Twitch emotes, sub badges, and moreover on my shop page as well as my own merch.

Review of Gods & Monsters by Shelby Mahurin (Serpent & Dove Series, Book 3)

Gods & Monsters by Shelby Mahurin is the third and final book in the Serpent & Dove series. To say this series pulled me in would be an understatement. It has Romeo & Juliet vibes but instead of opposing families, it’s witches and witch hunters. Not to mention a lot of other elements like different covens, gods, Church, politics, and magical beings of all kinds. The story has led up to this conclusion, and I was curious to see how it was going to play out. Especially with the way the second book ended. I’ll be sharing spoilers of the ending of that book in this review as there’s no way to discuss this book (spoiler-free to the ending) without discussing the previous book.

Review of Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin (Serpent & Dove Series, Book 2)

Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin is the second book in the Serpent & Dove series. I was curious how this series would go forward after the first book. Since a lot happened at the end of that book. I’ll be sharing spoilers of the ending of that book in this review as there’s no way to discuss this book (spoiler-free to the ending) without discussing the previous book.

Review of Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin (Serpent & Dove Series, Book 1)

k series that has been sitting on my shelves for a few months now, but I refused to pick it up until the entire trilogy was released. I got enough books in unfinished series, I didn’t want to start another one. So, when I realized the last book was coming out this week I finally picked up the first one. And man, it was the first book good. I’ll release the other two once I finish each of those books.

I Read All Released Books in Icehome Series by Ruby Dixon

After reading Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon, I initially wasn’t going to read the spin-off series called Icehome but I don’t with getting ready to move apartments I found myself reading all 14 books that have been released as of July 2021. There are more coming with the next one being called Sam’s Secret releasing in September. Similar to the first series, each book takes place from a different couple’s perspective. There is some overlap between the stories are characters are separated or relationships happen at the same time. Not to mention there is also overlap with the main series and characters from there make appears throughout the Icehome series. But you don’t have to read that series in order to read this one.

I Turned Myself into a Cracked Stone Statue

Tonight during a Twitch stream, I turned myself into a cracked stone statue using body paint and some eyeshadow. This look was roughly inspired by @kristinefargerik and @artyfaceart, and the only thing edited in the photos is my eye color. We got a little carried away during stream with stone/cracked puns, which I thought was hilarious. Usually I have a long list of products that I used when creating looks but I only used a few products. Those being: Madeyewlook body paint in Yeti and Ink, ColourPop Smoke Show palette, and NYX liquid liners.

Review of Legendborn (The Legendborn Cycle, Book 1) by Tracy Deonn

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn was a book club book I was supposed to read back in December, and never got around to reading. Then I kept putting it off because I was afraid it wouldn’t live up to the expectations for the book I had in my head after hearing a bunch of people saying how amazing it was. Especially after seeing it was similar in some regards to Shadowhunters. Which is one of my favorite universes. But I decided to finally give Legendborn a try after running a poll in a few places on what to read next. The vote was split between two books in the end, so the other one I’ll read next. But first, Legendborn.
