I Can’t Wait to Move

Who’s in the mood to rant? This girl! And since I don’t really have much to talk about on the blog, this seemed like a great idea. I haven’t read any new books just been revisiting ones I’ve already shared in the past. And as far as makeup goes, I haven’t tried anything new lately that I want to talk about or looks that I feel compelled to write an entire post about. So, we’re swinging over to the other avenue I use this blog for occasionally which is talking about my life. Specifically, I wanted to talk about wanting to move out of my apartment.

The Apartment Diaries: Start of my Sanctuary (AKA the Bedroom)

My bedroom is one space that I wanted to be a mixture of relaxing and have tons of my personality everywhere from the artwork to little pop culture references. Excuse the not made bed, Pixie likes to unmake it. And I’m not embarrassed that my room isn’t perfect. I really like how it looks so far. I still have some stuff in here to unpack or get rid of but I thought I would show the start of turning my room into a sanctuary.

The Apartment Diaries: Making Progress on my Kitchen

It’s been about two weeks since I moved into my apartment, and I’ve been working on putting everything together since I haven’t had internet. One of the areas that I have more or less completely put together is my kitchen. Which I haven’t used a lot at this time, but I’m working on breaking my habit of eating out to actually make my own food. So I thought today since my internet is finally set up I would share a few progress photos of putting together the area.

The Apartment Diaries: Update From Move-In Day

It’s official, I’m in the new apartment! I have never lived on my own before, I’ve always had lived with roommates, lived in a sorority, or lived with my family. So this is a new adventure that I’m really excited about. Not just that I’m independent again (granted I was independent at my mom’s place, it just wasn’t mine).

The Apartment Diaries: What I’m Looking Forward to the Most

I’m a week out from moving. The Harry Potter closet room is bare of all the decorations, leaving behind just the basics. I’m a strange mixture of excited and nervous at the moment. Excited to get out of this tiny box with no room to move that I’ve been in for a year and a half. And nervous that everything is going to go wrong next week. We’ll find out when the move actually happens. So I thought since I can’t really film or do much with everything packed away, I would just share some of the things I’m looking forward to the most about this move.

The Apartment Diaries: My Plans for the New Place

For the almost two years, I have been living in a six foot by six foot room. That was supposed to be double that in length but was converted by the previous home owners into a massive closet. That’s pretty unusable when the entire room is taken up by your bed so you can’t get into the closets. The arrangement was supposed to be temporarily. Like a six month arrangement, then a lot happened between my ex-roommate and me that basically forced me to be late on bills and basically go bankrupt destroying my credit in the process. I had found a place to move to as well but it just didn’t make sense to move due to those reasons. So when the lease ran up at the old place I worked my hardest to rebuild that credit, get back on track with bills, and save money staying in what I like to refer to as the Harry Potter Closet at my mom’s house. Which took an additional year to accomplish but I did it. So I put in my application for the apartment I had wanted… and I got it!
