View PostPros and Cons of Blogging Daily

I've been more or less daily blogging for the last few years. During that time frame, I have learned a lot and there are some definite pros and cons that come with blogging daily. Now I don't sit down and write every single day, or even write posts that go live on that day. I schedule out a large majority of my blog posts to go live every single day and sometimes even two posts a day.…
View PostBeing a Wallflower Blogger

I have been shy my entire life. I used to force my sister to ask waiters or waitresses at the restaurants to ask where the restroom was for me, because I was too shy and scared to do it myself. And that's never changed. I was always the quiet kid in class to the point where they my creative writing class joked that I had to be a stoner, because I didn't talk. When really, I didn't talk because I was too shy to and didn't want the attention of my classmates. So I focused on my writing and it's always been something that I feel no pressure about. Same goes with painting, as you can be open about anything without feeling the pressure of social situations. And I would say this is still a true statement even today with my blog, I've become quite a wallflower blogger. I don't like hyping myself or blog up to others, if someone else enjoys a post then that's enough... but of course no one is going to read it if you don't put yourself out there. I got the idea to write this post from From Roses who discussed this same topic over on her blog. …

View PostThings I Want to Do To Improve my Blog

Over the past few months I've been working hard making my blog the best version it's ever been. From getting a template from Pipdig, getting help with designing a logo, and purchasing items to make the quality better. Were all of these things needed? No, but they're investments I wanted to make into my blog. And I honestly think it has been the best result, as there's actually engagement for once on here and I can see it growing. Something I hardly ever saw before I made all of these changes. But there are a few more things that I want to do to improve the blog.…
View PostIntroducing the New Mae Polzine Blog

Back in 2015 when I first started blogging, I had one blog where I talked about just anything I wanted to from video games to beauty. Then in 2016, I removed video game type posts from maepolzine.com and moved it to its own blog that I was sharing with my then-roommate. Over the course of the year and a half that blog existed, a lot changed from the name to how focused I was on it. It got to a point on each blog where I was constantly wondering "what next." I was splitting my attention so much it was becoming hard to keep up with both. Or I didn't want to write on one for days while the other one I had loads of ideas. To a point where I wasn't putting out good quality of either since I was just posting things to post things though they weren't the quality I wanted them to be.…
View PostThoughts on Staying True to Yourself in a Constantly Changing Blogging Community

I've been blogging here for almost two years now. And a lot has changed in that time period, both how I approached blogging to the topics I write about to the community surrounding blogging. And it's tempting to follow the trends of what everyone else is doing. From similar layouts to topics you write about. But staying true to yourself seems like one of the most difficult things to do in the even changing blogging community, especially when it's really tempting to get caught up in all the ways to drive traffic and get views/followers.…
