My Thoughts on Zodiac Academy Series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

I finally got around to reading the Zodiac Academy series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. I tried my hardest to avoid all spoilers with regard to this series. So far, only 8 of the 9 books in total have been released, with the last coming sometime in the future. They are available right now on Kindle Unlimited. While only eight of the books have been released, the first book was re-released but from the POV of the guys since the first book is solely told from the girls' POV. Every book after that is a mixture of their perspectives, with each POV told from the first POV.…
View PostReading Guide for the Ruby Dixon Universe

Ruby Dixon has a lot of books released and a good majority of them are connected. Now, I haven't read a good majority of these (all the Risdaverse books) as they just didn't interest me at the time. But some of those characters do make appearances in the rest of the universe. This universe is expanding with another spin-off series for the Ice Planet, Not-Hoth, and more books in the Corsairs series, so I'm sure it's going to be more back and forth. But as of December 2022 here is how the books connect as far as the timeline goes.…
View PostLooking Back at November 2022

This month I decided to take a break from body painting after doing so many looks in October and reacquaint myself with video games since I really didn't play anything in October. The goal was to play a bunch of shorter games, or rather, games I was excited to play that came out in November. And I enjoyed the heck out of it. Most of them I played on Twitch, but I also played Persona 5 Royal offline.…
View PostMy Thoughts on A Light in the Flame (Flesh and Fire, Book 2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Jennifer L. Armentrout's second book in the prequel series to Blood and Ash (Flesh and Fire) was finally released. I was curious about what would happen in A Light in the Flame because the last time we left off, Sera was about to die unless she was Ascended by Nyktos through love. Something we quickly learn he is not capable of because he had that part of his soul removed years ago. Furthermore, the two are still figuring out how to deal with each other after the truth about Sera's upbringing was revealed in A Shadow in the Ember.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Legendary (Caraval, Book 2) by Stephanie Garber

This book took me a hot moment to read. Not for a lack of interest but because of a book slump. Or what felt like one. I think I've just read so many books on Kindle that reading a physical book feels off at the moment. So, I ended up getting the book on Kindle and finished it within a few days of doing so. Unlike the previous book review I did for Caraval, I'm just sharing my thoughts after reading Legendary by Stephanie Garber. There are some spoilers, but only things that happened or were revealed by the halfway point in the book. Everything after that I'm not going to reveal, so if you wanted to avoid what happens from that point on (plot twists, etc.) it's not ruined for you.…
View PostLooking Back at October 2022

This last month has been a rollercoaster. It started off with me not being in the mood to read anything new, and that kind of continued all month. Don't get me wrong, I did read some things as you'll see but mostly I just read segments of previously read books. And I didn't play any video games as I focused the month on Twitch with body painting. Well, I did play Dreamlight Valley but it was still less gaming than I normally do overall.…
View PostMy Thoughts on The Bonds that Tie Series by J Bree

While I could post a review about every book in The Bonds that Tie series by J Bree, I didn't want to put them down or pause reading to do so. I enjoyed the series that much (spoiler alert). So, I'm just going to combine them all together as I have done with other series that captivated my attention to this extent. I originally discovered this series through TikTok, but only ever heard that they were fantastic without any real details around the plot which I appreciate so I could go into the series without there being spoilers. I love discussing the details of a book as much as the next person especially when it's a good book, but I don't like knowing those details until I've gotten a chance to experience it for myself. Case and point Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard, I still haven't finished that series due to the fact I know everything that's going to happen and it makes me not want to pick up the next book. So, with that being said, I'm not going to be going into heavy details about the books, so there will be no spoilers here while I share my thoughts on this series. …
View PostBooks That at One Point Got Me into Reading

You would probably never guess based on how much I read today, but I grew up hating books. My parents struggled to get me to read anything. At one point they had to bribe me to read 100 books. They made a whole chart, and the majority of those were extremely short books meant to read your child to sleep. And I struggled with those. Any words that weren't simple, I didn't recognize, or couldn't pronounce/spell. So, I wanted nothing to do with reading. It wasn't until the seventh or eighth grade that I finally got into reading anything that wasn't assigned to me by school. And throughout the years there were lulls when I stopped reading for various reasons. So, I thought it would be fun to go through those books. …
