My Thoughts on The Broken Kingdom Series by LJ Andrews

I love a good retelling or adaptation of classic folklore. This series by LJ Andrews is going to be broken into four parts. The first is Beauty and the Beast (books 1-3), the second is Cinderella (books 4-6), the third is Swan Princess (books 7-9), and the last is the Phantom of the Opera (10-12). However, not all of the parts have been released as of yet. But by the end, all four tales will collide together for a grand finale. While the series are separate, they occur in the same world and are interconnected. So, you can read the Cinderella books first, but it is recommended that you read them in the order they were published. And considering I enjoyed the other books I've read so far by Tessonja Odette, I was looking forward to reading Heart of the Raven Prince. Especially since it involves two characters from previous books in the Fair Isle world, those being Ember and Prince Franco. While you can read the Entangled With Fae series in any order, I would recommend reading them in order as this book takes place one year after the events of Curse of the Wolf King and refers to characters from there, as in there could be some spoilers for the first book.…

I loved A Deal with the Elf King which was the first book in this "series". Each book is technically standalone but they all happen in the same universe, roughly around the same time. A Dance with the Fae Prince was inspired by Psyche and Eros as well as Cinderella. While I didn't exactly see the Psyche and Eros theme while reading the book, you definitely get the Cinderella vibes. A girl whose father marries someone before dying an untimely death, only for the stepmother and sister to treat her like a servant before she is "rescued" by a prince. Only there's more to the tale than that.…
