My Favorite Romance Tropes to Read

My Favorite Romance Tropes to Read

I used to be a fantasy-only reader, though I did enjoy it when there was a romance subplot. But within the last few years, I've been getting more into reading romance novels. The majority of which I read on my Kindle, so it's always funny seeing whatever book my Kindle wants to advertise to me when it's not fully on. Most of the time they don't immediately draw me in, but sometimes they do. I have found a few books through there. So, I thought it would be a fun idea to share which Romance Tropes I love seeing in books.…

Looking Back at What I Read in 2020

Looking Back at What I Read in 2020

2020 was a tough year for a lot of us. I know I already talked a bit about this in my Happy New Year and Goals for January 2021 posts, but I thought I would make a dedicated post for going over the books that I read last year and if any of my thoughts have changed in regards to them. Since this last year really got me back into reading, as before other than Shadowhunters Chronicles which was the majority of my reading in 2019 I pretty much never read. But in 2020, I read at least six to eight books a month. If not, more as I often end up reading several books multiple times or re-reading various chapters repeatedly.…

WWW Wednesday: November 25, 2020

Time for another WWW Wednesday. I didn't do one the previous week as I didn't honestly get around to reading much. I tried getting as much progress as possible done on my book for NaNoWriMo, currently I'm at 28K out of 50K words. But my laptop battery exploded, so I have to put that on hold until my new computer arrives and I get everything transferred over to that. At least it's forcing me to spend that time reading. …

My Thoughts on How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black

My Thoughts on How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black

Holly Black recently released a novella called How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories from The Folk of the Air series. Instead of this story taking place from Jude Duarte's perspective this is from Cardan Greenbriar. I didn't do a review on the other novella called The Lost Sisters though I did read it. Nor do I with most novellas, though I think I'm going to start in the future whenever I do. So, let me use this one as the first.…

90’s Book Tag (Music Edition)

90’s Book Tag (Music Edition)

I was not tagged to do this, but I saw it on Ellie's blog Read to Ramble, and I really wanted to do it myself. One, as I was born in the 90's. Two, quarantine has unleashed my book addiction and has temporarily replaced my video game and makeup addicted self as you can probably tell from the change in direction of my blog lately. This tag was created by Jemma from What Reading Does and Milly from A Books Neverland. Now, onto this tag!…

Taylor Swift’s Folklore Book Tag

I haven't done a book tag in a hot minute, and I recently saw this one from Cielo @ Bellerose Reads inspired by Taylor Swift's new album Folklore. I was not tagged in this, but I wanted to give it a go myself.…

As I did with the previous two books, I'm going to share my general overview thoughts of the book without getting into any spoilers. If you want to see my thoughts on the previous two books: The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King check out their reviews.…

My Thoughts on The Wicked King by Holly Black

My Thoughts on The Wicked King by Holly Black

The second book in the series The Folk of the Air by Holly Black is called The Wicked King. Similar to the first book in this series, I couldn't set this book aside and ended up reading it in one sitting. I can't remember if I mentioned that in my previous post where I reviewed The Cruel Prince. If you want to see my thoughts on that book or get a sense of the series, I would recommend checking out that post as I went more into Holly Black's style in there as well as the world as a whole.…
