Haven’t done one of these in a while on the blog, but I had some spare time and it’s Spooky Season, so next up in my Classic Horror Makeup Series is Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street. Complete with body painted outfit and tin foil blade fingers since I’m on a budget.
Next up in my classic Horror Movie series makeup looks is Chucky from Child’s Play. This movie follows a 13-year-old boy who gets a toy doll called Buddi for his birthday. However this Buddi doll takes on a life of its own, and names itself Chucky. Let’s just say if you think killer doll, Chucky is generally the first one that anyone thinks of. So, I just had to attempt to recreate this iconic character as part of this series.
I was not planning on doing another slasher horror movie look until next week, but last night there was a power outage and I didn’t really have anything else to do. So, I decided to create Jason Voorhees from the cult classic Friday the 13th. I was inspired to do this specific version from @peachcait over on Instagram. Being completely honest, I have never watched this movie or most of the iconic horror classics. Maybe this Halloween season I’ll actually watch them for the first time rather than just the “Everything Wrong With…” videos on YouTube.
It’s spooky season! I love Halloween, it’s my favorite time of the year. And yes I could start celebrating and doing makeup looks in October, but considering how little time I have I’m going to be doing some in September too. This one I had a lot of fun recreating. The look I was inspired by was by @peachcait over on Instagram (she was inspired by @keilidhmua and @yashinss though I’m not sure what looks, I tried finding them to link in this post but failed). She’s an incredibly talented makeup artist, so check her out if you don’t follow her already. Anyways, this got me so inspired that I had to do my own version of it.
Halloween is my favorite holiday with Christmas being a close second, so for the entire month of October (more or less) I will be dedicating every blog post around Halloween/Fall. So what better way to kick off the season of Halloween than going over all the movies I love watching during the month of October. Some are Halloween specific while others are not, but fit the general feel of Halloween.
