In a recent post, I mentioned how I did a massive book haul. That's a bit of an understatement. So, I decided to pull every book off my shelf that I want to read. And honestly, I have no idea where I even want to start with tackling this pile. Granted, I already started it last month and have posted reviews on every book that I read. This is not even everything if I'm being 100% honest. There are some books I got last year that should be in here as well, but considering how many books this already is I didn't go back to grab those. Maybe I'll end up reading those before some of these, but I thought this would be a fun post to do while I debate on what to read next. Hell, you guys might help me pick which one to start with.
I saw this tag on Ellie's blog, Read to Ramble, and she was tagged by Sabrina over at Sabrina’s Booktails, who found this tag on Prutha’s blog, The Confessions of A Music and Book Addict, and after searching through loads of other posts... I can't find the original author of this tag nor could Ellie. If you know it, please share in the comments. But I wanted to do this tag since it looked interesting and I need something to blog about during the stretches between books. Since I don't have time to read long books in one sitting at the moment.
I wasn't tagged to do the 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag, but I really liked the concept after seeing it on Ellie's blog (Read to Ramble). So, I'm going to do it as well. This tag was originally created by Lizzie Loves Books.
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo is the conclusion of Shadow and Bone series. If you haven't seen my posts on Shadow and Bone or Siege and Storm I would recommend checking out those first before reading my thoughts on the final book in the series. As there will be spoilers. If you want spoiler free, go to the OVERALL THOUGHTS section as I'll be wrapping up my thoughts there without any of the plot points.
Time for the next book in the Shadow and Bone series by Leigh Bardugo, which is Siege and Storm. If you have not read Shadow and Bone first, or my thoughts while reading that book I would recommend it prior to continuing on with this post. As I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on Siege and Storm in this post along with my overall thoughts of the book (spoiler free in that section).
After finishing the Six of Crows duology, I was going to stay in the Grishaverse and head over to the original series Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. But due to the knowledge that I had gleamed from Six of Crows and TikTok, I kept getting anxious when it came to starting this book series. So, I had put it off and returned to other series I had already read. As I felt like I knew too much in a way, or had too high of expectations to enjoy reading the book. But after a month or so, I finally forced myself to get past that and start Shadow and Bone. Once I started, I couldn't put the book down.
So, I got seriously into reading than after binging a lot of good series, I fell not really into a reading slump as I haven't stopped reading but I haven't really touched new books. I've just been re-reading all of my favorite series. And have way, way, way too many that I purchased but haven't read. Nor can get myself to read as I'm too nervous to reach for them for fear they won't live up to expectations. As a lot of these I learned through BookTok (TikTok) as being great books.
Alright the time has come to finish the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo. Going into Crooked Kingdom I'm curious where this story will go after reading the first book, and everyone on BookTok says it's heartbreaking or emotional. So, I have a feeling going into the book that a lot of the main characters are going to die. Or Kaz doesn't manage to get his wraith (Inej) back. As I did with the first book, I'm going to be sharing my thoughts as I read the book breaking it up into the sections of the book.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is book that I have seen mentioned a lot on TikTok. All I know of the book going into it is that Kaz is a morally grey character, and a lot of people like him. Apparently The Grishaverse which is a combination of Six of Crows Duology, The Shadow and Bone Triology (on my TBR/Amazon Wishlist), and The King of Scars Duology (also on my list to read) is coming to Netflix as an original series in the future. So, I plan on getting to all of these books before that happens. Similar to when I read A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, I'm going to share my thoughts on Six of Crows as I read the book. So, there will be spoilers.
