My Tattoo Story & What I Want To Get In The Future

To start my tattoo story I have to begin with where I got the inspiration for my first tattoo that I got when I turned eighteen, the legal age you have to be in order to get a tattoo without parental consent. When I was in eighth grade I went on a mission trip to New Orleans, which was several years but still shortly after Hurricane Katrina. While I was there helping to run a summer camp for kids in the area, one of the counselors had a faith/hope tattoo on her wrist. And I fell in love with it even drawing my own version for years until I finally got one of my own. Though it wasn't the one I drew, but one that the tattoo parlor I went to for about half of my tattoos had. Though my body hates literally any kind of needle if I'm watching it, I got my first tattoo. It was not painful in by means. Though I did faint halfway through because like an idiot I watched the needle as it tattooed my wrist.…
View PostDog Reactive on Leash tips

My mom and sister's dog Winnie Bear is very dog reactive when she's on a lease. And we're positive it's because she's terrified of running into another dog when she's on a lease. She's great with Pixie, but any dog she sees on a lease she goes into full panic mode. It may not appear that way by her smile or waging tail, but underneath this front she doesn't know how to handle the situation of running into another dog. And she wasn't always good about Pixie either, they had to build up a lot of trust before Winnie was fine to be left alone with Pixie. So what do you do when your dog is terrified of other dogs? Especially when trying to take them for a walk.…
View PostVans Warped Tour: Meet & Greets

My roommate, Harley, and I love music and going to festivals. So we decided we would finally go to Vans Warped Tour together. I have never been before due to work or being out of state when it's occurring. So this year I made sure I would be able to go. We decided that we would go to more of the meet & greets, photographs with the bands, and signings rather than going from stage to stage listening to music. Admittedly these were also my first meet and greets ever. I've been to plenty of concerts and festivals, but I've never met any of the artists or groups.…
View PostAfternoon at Como Zoo & Conservatory

On Saturday, I went to Como Zoo & Conservatory with my roommate Harley. To be 100% honest, we were going to go to the zoo mainly to play Pokemon Go, but my app would not sign me in for more than two minutes so I ended up just enjoying walking around the place. However, almost 75% of the people at the zoo were on Pokemon Go and not really watching where they were going in some places. But that didn't bother me as it did for other people... as I wanted to join them to see what Pokemon I could get at the zoo. Whenever I did get on, all that there was available is Magmar.…
View PostAdult Night at Minnesota Zoo

So one thing I really wanted to do for my birthday was go to the zoo, but in Minnesota it ends up just being a massive crowd of parents with children to the point where it's hot, sticky, and you can't see over them to look at the animals especially when you're five feet two inches tall. My sister, Lucy, discovered we could go to the zoo when there wasn't any of that. Minnesota Zoo was offering starting this summer once a month, a time where it's adults only at the zoo for two and a half hours. So no crowds, no filters, and booze. Sign me up! …
View PostOff-Lease Dog Parks with Pixie

In the Twin Cities there aren't a lot of open fields or places to take your dog that loves to run that don't require you have a lease. And a long lease doesn't cut it as they have limitations on the length of lease in many of these places. So finding an off-lease dog park is a must with having a dog who goes zero to sixty after a tennis ball. And I mean that quite literally... while maybe not the speed part. But if there is a tennis ball being thrown, nothing else matters in the world to her. And a six feet limit is not going to cut it. She wants to run 30 to 50 yards after the ball. If not more. …
