Photo Diary: Minnesota Zoo Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular

The other night I actually left my house to be "social" by that I mean I hung out with my mom and sister by going to the Minnesota Zoo for the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. This is the second year they have done this event, so I didn't know what to inspect since I didn't go last year and held off on looking up any information. This way I could get the full experience. Apparently there were 5,000 illuminated pumpkins all with different sizes, shapes, and faces. It was incredible! …
View PostPhoto Diary: Crisp Evening Walk in the Woods

I haven't been out and about for a photo outing in a while. Mainly because these days if I go out for a walk with the dogs, I have to take both dogs (Winnie and Pixie). And while Pixie is excellent on these walks, Winnie could never come on these walks. Mainly as when we go for walks in the woods, we often run into other dogs and Winnie cannot be anywhere near other dogs.…
View PostPhoto Diary: Avant Garde Rag Doll Look

On Thursday for my 100 Days of Makeup, I was going to do a "How I Style" black lipstick with Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic palette... but I realized the day following was going to be on the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette so I would break my theme. Which I am completely in love with, so I decided to hold off on posting that. Then I ended up playing around with my Wolfe Essential water activated face paint and some of my NYX Liquid Eyeliners. To the point where I came up with this look that my roommate, Rose, called a rag doll. OR as she first said when I asked if she could help me with photos, "What did you do?" But let's go with the first one.…
View PostPhoto Diary: Depotting Makeup

Over the weekend, I had the brilliant idea that I was going to depot all of my NYX Hot Single Eyeshadows and Prismatic Eyeshadows then put them all into a Z Palette that I got at Sephora. I watched about five different videos and explanations on how to best complete this task so I would 1. not destroy the shadows, and 2. not destroy my hands in the process. Let's say those two things didn't really happen. I managed to break two of my shadows though I was able to repair them using some alcohol from the pharmacy, and my hands are cut up all over the place. I also used the Z Palette to house some of the samples that I have gotten over the years from various subscription boxes that were getting lost due to being a tiny pan with only a small plastic casing. Some of these I don't remember what they were so I couldn't label them.…
View PostPhoto Diary: Birthday Parties of Years Past

Though my mom wasn't the greatest of taking individual pictures of me growing up as my sister literally refused to leave my side, the one thing she always made sure of was that she took photos every year on my birthday. Or around my birthday rather when I had my hair freshly cut/styled and in an outfit that summed up my year. Either a favorite outfit I loved wearing or something new, and I got a say in what I wanted my birthday picture outfit to be. Some of them were taken at my birthday party and others were just around the house. She did this every year until I turned 18 and she still has the photos hanging up in her bedroom next to my sister's. So seeing as today is my 24th birthday, I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane.…
View PostPhoto Diary: Walk in the Woods

The other night it was so gorgeous and I decided it would be a good idea to take both of the dogs for a walk. Normally if I'm going to go for a walk I'll only take Pixie with me and leave my roommate's dog behind. But she recently got us a double lease so we can hook both dogs together. Now Pixie and Kiki both like to explore while walking and typically they go in separate directions. So starting the walk it was super difficult as they didn't understand how to walk connected to each other and kept trying to go in different directions. But by the end of the walk, they were walking side by side with Pixie leading as she cannot stand anyone being in front of her. …
View PostFog on the Lake Photo Diary

Yesterday when I was driving home from work I decided instead of driving along the highway to the townhouse I would go down the back road where the lake runs near my house. And I was in the zone of singing along to the radio while driving through the trees. Then the trees vanish and you get a clear view of the lake and instantly I knew I had to get the shot. I didn't have my nice DSLR camera on me as I don't need it while I'm at work and I knew driving home then running back down to the lake would be too late. As on the lake there was the most gorgeous fog rolling over everything.…
