Reading Guide for the Ruby Dixon Universe

Ruby Dixon has a lot of books released and a good majority of them are connected. Now, I haven't read a good majority of these (all the Risdaverse books) as they just didn't interest me at the time. But some of those characters do make appearances in the rest of the universe. This universe is expanding with another spin-off series for the Ice Planet, Not-Hoth, and more books in the Corsairs series, so I'm sure it's going to be more back and forth. But as of May 2023 here is how the books connect as far as the timeline goes.…
View PostTandem Reading Guide of Twilight and Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

I've mentioned it before on my blog, but I used to be obsessed with Twilight. I helped run a fan forum back in the day on Gaia Online. I wrote a series of novels (never published) that were very inspired by Twilight. And I read every post that Stephenie Meyer put up on her website about this series including Midnight Sun after it was leaked. Then I went to college, grew up a bit, and haven't returned to the series since. When Midnight Sun was finally released, I wasn't sure if I was going to get it or not. And I didn't for the longest time, but the other day while I was at Target I ended up putting it in my cart. So, I thought I'd share here how a tandem read could be done between Midnight Sun and Twilight. Since it's the same book, just one told by Bella and the other by Edward.…
View PostReading Guide for The World of Solaria by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

The World of Solaria by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti contains three separate series: Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac, Zodiac Academy, and Darkmore Penitentiary. There's no right way to read these series but there are two different recommended ways you could go about it. The first one is chronological order and the other is publication order. So, I thought I would share each of those here. These lists include the short stories/novellas for Zodiac Academy. However, the limited edition bonus chapters that were only available for one month on Kindle or through the Facebook group, are not on this list since those aren't easily accessible to everyone, or required additional sign-up. But just as a note, there are several of these that are not included.…
View PostThe Various Reading Orders of Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas

There is a lot of debate over where to read The Assassin Blade in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Not to mention, two of the books literally take place at the same time on different continents (i.e. Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn) which can be read in tandem. I already did a post on how to complete a tandem read of those two books. So, I thought I would share the various ways the rest of the series can be read. There isn't a right or wrong way to go about reading this series, and some prefer reading it in a certain order. I am not one of those people, but I also skip over the first and second books whenever I re-read the series or segments of the series. Not that I didn't like them, but from the third book on the series is completely different.…
View PostTandem Reading Guide for A Touch of Ruin and A Gate of Retribution by Scarlett St. Clair

When I initially read A Touch of Ruin by Scalett St. Clair, I was wondering what the heck Hades was doing the majority of the time. He's apart from Persephone for a large amount of time, not to mention he doesn't really get into his motives or reasons for things. So, I was looking forward to A Game of Retribution coming out. Now that it's been released, I'm sharing a tandem reading guide between the two. This is not perfectly lined but as close as possible without going by the page.…
View PostTandem Reading Guide of The Awakening by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

The next tandem reading guide I'm doing is between The Awakening and The Awakening as Told by the Boys by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Both of these are the first books in the Zodiac Academy series. These books were published two years apart from each other, and you don't really need to read the retelling to understand the story. Most of the elements brought up in The Awakening as Told by the Boys are mentioned later, but it does give some context for where the guys' thought process was at the time when they were bullying Tori and Darcy Vega.…
View PostTandem Reading Guide for Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

Today's tandem reading guide is for Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas. On my initial reading of this series, I read the books separately. I have read the entire series multiple times over since then, and many times I have done a tandem read between these two books. I found it helpful as it shows a lot of light on some of the things that happen between the books and keeps the timeline straight in my head on what happened when. If you're not a massive fan of Chaol by the end of Queen of Shadows, this can help get you through the book that does not include Aelin. Because there are a lot of great characters that come out of Tower of Dawn that you wouldn't have a lot of background on if you just skipped to Kingdom of Ash, not to mention a bunch of details regarding Maeve that were learned in Tower of Dawn.…
View PostTandem Reading Guide of A Touch of Darkness and A Game of Fate by Scarlett St. Clair

I enjoy reading books in Tandem when they are related (take place at the same time), I flip back and forth between the stories to get the whole picture of what's going on. Usually, I read the books this way on the second reading rather than the first time. So, my experience it's hindered by going back and forth between two different books. Or I've already read the first book. But sometimes that can be really helpful. So, I thought I would share a reading guide for a tandem read of A Touch of Darkness (ATOD) and A Game of Fate (AGOF) by Scarlett St. Clair.…
