Review of the Dirty Broken Savages Series by Eva Ashwood

I started reading this series last year when I finally decided to read books in the romance genre. I can't remember exactly when I read the first book, but the final book came of the series came out on March 31, 2022. If you read Den of Vipers by K.A. Knight but found you wanted more out of it (mainly plot and better development), the Dirty Broken Savages series by Eva Ashwood is for you.…
View PostThoughts on The War of Two Queens (Blood and Ash, Book 4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The fourth installment of the Blood and Ash Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout was released called The War of Two Queen. I read it in a day... literally stayed up all night unable to put the book down. While I could do a proper review, I haven't done so with the rest of the series. I have a lot of thoughts I wanted to share, which means I'm going to go heavy into spoilers, especially regarding the last few chapters of the book.…
View PostI Read All Books in Fireblood Dragon Series by Ruby Dixon

After finishing Icehome series, I wanted to read more romance books. One of the characters from that series, Ashtar, is a drakoni which is a species featured and explored in Ruby Dixon's Fireblood Dragon series. So, I thought I would check it out. All books have been released in the series as of March 2022. I figured instead of reviewing each book individually, I would share my thoughts on the series overall.…
View PostMy Thoughts on King of Battle and Blood (Adrian x Isolde, Book 1) by Scarlett St. Clair

I love Scarlett St. Clair's Persephone and Hades series, so I was curious what her first book outside of that series was going to be like. Especially when I learned it was about vampires. Plus it's an enemies-to-lovers-style romance, which is always filled with tension. Granted the enemies-to-lovers part is one-sided in this book. If you don't want spoilers since I'm going to be sharing all my thoughts on King of Battle and Blood, I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I could not put it down. There are some darker themes and romance scenes are not fade to black. Though I wouldn't say any of the darker moments are very graphic. I'm curious to see where the rest of this series is going to go. I can't remember where the next book in this series is slotted for release since Scarlett St. Clair is still working on publishing the rest of her Persephone and Hades books.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Our Violent Ends (These Violent Delights, Book 2) by Chloe Gong

A year ago I read the first book in the Romeo & Juliet retelling by Chloe Gong called These Violent Delights and fell in love with the story. I wanted to see how the duology played out. Mostly if it kept with the Romeo & Juliet similarities until the very end or if it would take a different turn. So, when Our Violent Ends was announced for pre-order, I got it and finally got my hands on it over the weekend. And while I stick with the notion that I'm not doing reviews for the most part at this time, I have to for this book. Or at least share my thoughts on the books. Note there will be spoilers. If you don't want spoilers, here is what I would rate the book: 4.25 out of 5 stars. It was freaking amazing! I cannot wait to see what else Chloe Gong releases in the future since this was her first series.…
View PostMy Thoughts on the Glass Sword (Red Queen, Book 2) by Victoria Aveyard

The next book in the Red Queen series is Glass Sword, and this one kind of killed my groove when it came to reading. So, I don't know if I'm immediately going to jump into the third book after this. I might read a few other first then return to the Red Queen series. I do plan on finishing it, but it's not going to be any time soon. Maybe the series will get better now that the main things I was spoiled to are over, but as I go into in the review Mare's POV really made the book drag. She needs to have some serious character development in order for my opinion on the rest of the series to get better and right now I'm not in the mood to deal with it.…
View PostMy Thoughts on the Red Queen (Red Queen, Book 1) by Victoria Aveyard

While I'm not writing book reviews for the most part at the moment, as I just want to enjoy the books without worrying about how they will come across in a blog post. Or what things I'm going to talk about in them. If something calls out to me enough I will write about it. The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard fits into that. This series has been sitting on my shelf for ages. I originally tried to avoid all spoilers, then months past and that went to the wayside. So, I thought I would share it on the blog. I was also going to write about the whole series in one post, but I'm going to separate it into each book instead.…
View PostMy Thoughts on Star Cursed (Zodiac Wolves: The Lost Pack, Book 2) by Elizabeth Briggs

I was interested in reading the second book of this series after reading Moon Touched a few months ago. I read some other books by Elizabeth Briggs while I was waiting for this book to be released. So, I knew what to expect when it came to her writing. I think the Zodiac Wolves is the best series of hers that I have read. I wouldn't put it among my all-time favorites, but I do find it really enjoyable. Especially if you want a shorter romance read with paranormal/fantasy elements.…
