Books That at One Point Got Me into Reading
You would probably never guess based on how much I read today, but I grew up hating books. My parents struggled to get me to read anything. At one point they had to bribe me to read 100 books. They made a whole chart, and the majority of those were extremely short books meant to read your child to sleep. And I struggled with those. Any words that weren't simple, I didn't recognize, or couldn't pronounce/spell. So, I wanted nothing to do with reading. Oh, the love triangle trope. So many books include this in one way or another to add a dash of drama and conflict. There is a lot of debate over where to read The Assassin Blade in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Not to mention, two of the books literally take place at the same time on different continents (i.e. Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn) which can be read in tandem. Today's tandem reading guide is for Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas. On my initial reading of this series, I read the books separately. I have read the entire series multiple times over since then, and many times I have done a tandem read between these two books. I found it helpful as it shows a lot of light on some of the things that happen between the books and keeps the timeline straight in my head on what happened when. If you're not a massive fan of Chaol by the end of Queen of Shadows, this can help get you through the book that does not include Aelin. Because there are a lot of great characters that come out of Tower of Dawn that you wouldn't have a lot of background on if you just skipped to Kingdom of Ash, not to mention a bunch of details regarding Maeve that were learned in Tower of Dawn.…
