Reading Guide for the Ruby Dixon Universe

Reading Guide for the Ruby Dixon Universe

Ruby Dixon has a lot of books released and a good majority of them are connected. Now, I haven't read a good majority of these (all the Risdaverse books) as they just didn't interest me at the time. But some of those characters do make appearances in the rest of the universe. This universe is expanding with another spin-off series for the Ice Planet, Not-Hoth, and more books in the Corsairs series, so I'm sure it's going to be more back and forth. But as of May 2023 here is how the books connect as far as the timeline goes.…

I Read All of Icehome Series by Ruby Dixon

I Read All of Icehome Series by Ruby Dixon

After reading Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon, I initially wasn't going to read the spin-off series called Icehome but I found myself reading all 16 books that have been released as of June 2022. There are two more still coming. Similar to the first series, each book takes place from a different couple's perspective. There is some overlap between the stories are characters are separated or relationships happen at the same time. Not to mention, there is also overlap with the main series, and characters from there make appears throughout the Icehome series. But you don't have to read that series in order to read this one.…

My Thoughts on the Aspect and Anchor Series by Ruby Dixon

My Thoughts on the Aspect and Anchor Series by Ruby Dixon

When I'm trying to get out of a reading slump, I usually end up reading something from Ruby Dixon. There was a series I hadn't checked out of hers so I added all the books immediately to my Kindle Unlimited without reading the synopsis of them beforehand. I figured I was getting into another light-hearted sci-fi book series that was maybe 400 pages at most and the majority being sex scenes. That's not what happened when I started reading Aspect and Anchor. For starters, I would not class these as science fiction, other than the fact they don't take place on earth (though one of the main characters in the first book came from there). Aspect and Anchor is more fantasy than science fiction (even though it's classed as such on Amazon). So, I thought I would give my overall thoughts on the series rather than talk about each book individually.…

I Read All Books in Fireblood Dragon Series by Ruby Dixon

I Read All Books in Fireblood Dragon Series by Ruby Dixon

After finishing Icehome series, I wanted to read more romance books. One of the characters from that series, Ashtar, is a drakoni which is a species featured and explored in Ruby Dixon's Fireblood Dragon series. So, I thought I would check it out. All books have been released in the series as of March 2022. I figured instead of reviewing each book individually, I would share my thoughts on the series overall.…

My Thoughts on the Glass Sword (Red Queen, Book 2) by Victoria Aveyard

My Thoughts on the Glass Sword (Red Queen, Book 2) by Victoria Aveyard

The next book in the Red Queen series is Glass Sword, and this one kind of killed my groove when it came to reading. So, I don't know if I'm immediately going to jump into the third book after this. I might read a few other first then return to the Red Queen series. I do plan on finishing it, but it's not going to be any time soon. Maybe the series will get better now that the main things I was spoiled to are over, but as I go into in the review Mare's POV really made the book drag. She needs to have some serious character development in order for my opinion on the rest of the series to get better and right now I'm not in the mood to deal with it.…

My Thoughts on the Red Queen (Red Queen, Book 1) by Victoria Aveyard

My Thoughts on the Red Queen (Red Queen, Book 1) by Victoria Aveyard

While I'm not writing book reviews for the most part at the moment, as I just want to enjoy the books without worrying about how they will come across in a blog post. Or what things I'm going to talk about in them. If something calls out to me enough I will write about it. The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard fits into that. This series has been sitting on my shelf for ages. I originally tried to avoid all spoilers, then months past and that went to the wayside. So, I thought I would share it on the blog. I was also going to write about the whole series in one post, but I'm going to separate it into each book instead.…

I Read All of Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

I Read All of Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

I'm not a romance reader. I enjoy fantasy books where romance is but a subplot. So, when I saw Ice Planet Barbarians all over TikTok, initially I was like "thanks but no thanks." And then I don't know what got me to change my mind. I decided to read the first book of this sci-fi romance series and couldn't stop reading through to the rest. There are 22 full books and several short stories. I did not read the short stories mostly as they were add-ons that explore things that already happened in the main series but from another character's perspective. Each book in the series takes place from a different couple's perspective. So while the same characters appear in all the books, they each have one book that is theirs that takes place at various times. Some of them overlap, while others take place a while after the first one. So, you can't go out of order while reading them. As things mentioned in the books wouldn't make sense completely if you didn't read the previous ones.…
