Makeup Launches That Didn’t Go Over Well
Brands release new products all of the time, and sometimes they don't go over so well. Other times they go down in flames, which is what we're focusing on today. This is not anything against the brands as I do enjoy a fair amount of these brands and some of the products I'm mentioning in the post I don't have problems with personally.…View Post
Comparing Tarte NEW Face Tape Foundation to Original Shape Tape Matte Foundation
After last year's failure of a foundation launch by Tarte, they went on the wayside for most influencers. From a terrible shade range for both formulas and repackaging a foundation and claiming it as being new in that same launch. This flop also came with the excuse that they didn't release darker shades because these were the "winter shades" and the darker ones came later in the summer. No one bought that and canceled them. To start off the year of 2019 they released a new foundation called Face Tape, which includes 50 shades ranging from very fair to very deep. The Face Tape foundation is supposed to be the remastered version of the Matte Shape Tape Foundation, and both were inspired by their iconic shape tape concealer. Their slogan for this release was: "You asked, we listened." A bit late to be honest, as I mentioned they did expand the original range but at that point everyone had started looking for dupes of the concealer so they had alternatives to that. And stopped talking about their products.…View Post
Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation Review | Is it a Dupe for Tarte Shape Tape Foundation?
Makeup Revolution (a company well known for creating dupe products of higher end brands) came out with a foundation called the Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation. And instantly I thought of the Tarte Shape Tape Matte Foundation. Mainly due to the fact that the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Contour is a dupe of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. When this launched, I saw a lot of YouTubers try it out but no one was comparing it to the Tarte Shape Tape Foundation. And now I know a lot of people won't talk about that foundation anymore due to that shade range. So if the Makeup Revolution foundation is a dupe I wanted to know. And since I have the Tarte Shape Tape Foundation (but don't mention it on the blog or social media due to that shade range), I wanted to put them as a test against each other.…View Post
Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Matte v. Hydrating Foundation Review & Wear Test
To start out this review, I want to start out by stating I'm 99.9% sure I put this foundation previously in an anti-haul after all of the controversy from the shade range. I still stand by that remark that the shade range is god awful and has yet to be corrected. However, after having such poor luck with foundations from the drugstore section and wanting something different... I decided to get both the Shape Tape Hydrating and Matte foundations. I have had great luck with Tarte foundations in the past so I wanted to see what these ones were like knowing full well the shade range is down right shameful.…View Post
