The Read-Cap: Week of April 20, 2024

This week I didn’t want to read anything that required a lot of thinking, so books that I knew were going to be easy enough to breeze through. So, I ended up reading a series on Kindle Unlimited that I figured wouldn’t be too complex based on the premise and a book that I knew was just going to be vibe from Ruby Dixon. If you are new to the Read-Cap this a weekly post Iโ€™m doing where I share what Iโ€™ve been reading in the last week and what I plan on reading next. If I finish a book and decide not to do a full post reviewing the book then Iโ€™ll just share my general thoughts in one paragraph here.

My Thoughts on Ruthless Vows (Letters of Enchantment, Book 2) by Rebecca Ross

Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross is the second book in the Letters of Enchantment duology. I wanted to read this immediately after finishing Divine Rivals due to the cliffhanger that book left things off with. If you have not read Divine Rivals, I would recommend you check that book out first as there will be spoilers for the ending of that book during my review as I discuss the beginning of Ruthless Vows. I won’t be sharing too many spoils beyond the beginning of the book, and even then I’m going to try to keep any major spoilers beyond the beginning hidden or vague while giving my thoughts.

Life Lately: March 2024

This month has been stressful to say the least, but I also accomplished a lot. The company I work for has returned to two days a week in office and considering daylight savings happened around the same time, my body was not a fan of getting up early multiple days in a row. I’m sure I’ll eventually get used to it but it was really rough at first. I also finally returned to body painting so I’m going to share the looks that I managed to create during these end of month recaps. I hadn’t body painted since before Christmas, so three months in total since the last time I picked up a paint brush. Which is also one month more than my break from writing. I think I reached a point where I wasn’t feeling creative and had no motivation to create anything after massive revisions of my book. And/or I hit a depressive episode. We’ll never really know which is was because both are extremely likely reasons for what happened.
