There is a lot of debate over where to read The Assassin Blade in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Not to mention, two of the books literally take place at the same time on different continents (i.e. Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn) which can be read in tandem. I already did a post on how to complete a tandem read of those two books. So, I thought I would share the various ways the rest of the series can be read. There isn't a right or wrong way to go about reading this series, and some prefer reading it in a certain order. I am not one of those people, but I also skip over the first and second books whenever I re-read the series or segments of the series. Not that I didn't like them, but from the third book on the series is completely different.
Today's tandem reading guide is for Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas. On my initial reading of this series, I read the books separately. I have read the entire series multiple times over since then, and many times I have done a tandem read between these two books. I found it helpful as it shows a lot of light on some of the things that happen between the books and keeps the timeline straight in my head on what happened when. If you're not a massive fan of Chaol by the end of Queen of Shadows, this can help get you through the book that does not include Aelin. Because there are a lot of great characters that come out of Tower of Dawn that you wouldn't have a lot of background on if you just skipped to Kingdom of Ash, not to mention a bunch of details regarding Maeve that were learned in Tower of Dawn.
2020 was a tough year for a lot of us. I know I already talked a bit about this in my Happy New Year and Goals for January 2021 posts, but I thought I would make a dedicated post for going over the books that I read last year and if any of my thoughts have changed in regards to them. Since this last year really got me back into reading, as before other than Shadowhunters Chronicles which was the majority of my reading in 2019 I pretty much never read. But in 2020, I read at least six to eight books a month. If not, more as I often end up reading several books multiple times or re-reading various chapters repeatedly.
I wasn't tagged to do the 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag, but I really liked the concept after seeing it on Ellie's blog (Read to Ramble). So, I'm going to do it as well. This tag was originally created by Lizzie Loves Books.
I don't know who the originator of this tag is, but I wanted to do the 7 Deadly Sins Book Tag as it looked interesting. I spotted this on Berries and Books.
I haven't done a book tag in a hot minute, and I recently saw this one from Cielo @ Bellerose Reads inspired by Taylor Swift's new album Folklore. I was not tagged in this, but I wanted to give it a go myself.
Continuing on with books by Sarah J. Maas I have read all the books in the Throne of Glass series. Instead of doing a post on each. I'm going to try to share my general thoughts on the series as a whole, so there aren't going to be a lot of spoilers since there is just too much content to share all those details. There might be some plot points I refer to, but not much in this.
