Shadowhunters: Random Thoughts I Typically Have Watching the Show

Shadowhunters: Random Thoughts I Typically Have Watching the Show

I did six posts comparing Freeform's Shadowhunters to every single book of The Mortal Instruments and a lot of my thoughts were already shared in those. But considering I've been rewatching it over the last week, 'cause I'm addicted to the show even though it's over... I thought I would just share some random thoughts or questions I have while watching the show.…

Shadowhunters: My Favorite #Clace (Jace Herondale & Clary Fairchild) Moments

I'm still having a bit of a writer's block moment and went back to re-reading all of The Mortal Instruments books and rewatching Freeform's Shadowhunters so I thought I would share some of my favorite scenes of Jace and Clary (Clace) from the show. All clips are from the Shadowhunters Offical YouTube Channel. These are in order of their appearance in the show.…

The Mortal Instruments vs Shadowhunters: Which Member of Team Evil is the Worst: Clary, Jace or Jonathan?

The Mortal Instruments vs Shadowhunters: Which Member of Team Evil is the Worst: Clary, Jace or Jonathan?

Shadowhunters officially ended yesterday, I'm still working on my final comparison post which should be up tomorrow or the day following comparing the two part finale to the final book in The Mortal Instruments series. So I thought I would so something fun that I didn't dive too deeply into in my book to show comparison posts. And that's exploring the three characters of Team Evil (Clary, Jace, and Jonathan) between both the show and books to see which individual was truly the worst. I'm going to do each character against themselves and then from the least to most evil.…

Comparing The Mortal Instruments: City of Glass to Shadowhunters

Comparing The Mortal Instruments: City of Glass to Shadowhunters

My mother is now calling my obsessed as I've stopped playing video games or watching movies/YouTube videos when I get home from work to bury myself into this series. I think I finally found a book series that is holding my attention like no one's business. And since I've now finished the third book we are half way through the series. So I'm going to be comparing The Mortal Instruments: City of Glass to the Freeform TV Show called Shadowhunters. After the first two books it's very apparent how things are not following the same order, so I have no doubt certain points are going to be jumping from the beginning of season two to the end. And some points are incredibly different but aren't plot points of the books so those will be in the Minor Details and Differences Section like in my previous posts.…

Comparing The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes to Shadowhunters

Comparing The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes to Shadowhunters

Well I'm through the second book now and I thought I would do this again, though honestly if I keep this up these are going to be a jumbled mess between the different seasons. Plus I know there are some major plot points between the show and the books that are completely different. So if something happens during the show that didn't in the books I'll put it in the minor details/differences section though some of them are not minor things.…

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones | Which One was Closer to the Book: Movie or TV Show?

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones | Which One was Closer to the Book: Movie or TV Show?

As I mentioned about a week ago, I got The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Typically I like reading the book series before diving into movies or shows but this time was the opposite. I saw the TV show first then watched the movie and now I've finished the first book in the series. So I thought I would compare the three together on the merits of which one was the closest to following the plot of the book. Since I will be talking about the plot of all three, a spoiler warning is in effect.…

The Umbrella Academy: Thoughts on Season One

The Umbrella Academy: Thoughts on Season One

Netflix released a new series back in February that I just got around to watching called The Umbrella Academy, which is an adaptation of the comic book series by the same name (created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá under Dark Horse Comics) developed by Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater. It's an interesting premise as the story revolves around seven adopted siblings each with their own powers. The family is completely dysfunctional and brought back together by the death of their father and the threat of an impending apocalypse. I'm not going to go into the details of the plot as to not give any spoilers in case you haven't seen the series yet but were planning on doing so in the future.…

Comparing Mortal Instruments: City of Bones to Freeform’s Shadowhunters

Comparing Mortal Instruments: City of Bones to Freeform’s Shadowhunters

In the last month or so, I started watching Freeform's Shadowhunters, and have finished it three times now. I have yet to get to the books mind you, so I'm going to be comparing the movie, Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and the TV Show only. And mainly I'm going to be comparing the first season of Shadowhunters to the movie, since they cover the same amount of material since the show has continued onto the other books and now gone sort of in their own direction at this point.…
