I was recently going through my makeup collection and decluttering a bunch of products that I didn’t end up using. During this process I found a bunch of empty products that I held onto so I wouldn’t forget how much I loved them to repurchase in the future. Then I went on a no buy, and never ended up purchasing new ones instead moved onto a ‘Project Pan’ style method with the rest of my collection. However, it gave me the idea to go over the products that I loved and used up in 2019 as there were quite a few standouts in my opinion looking back over the last year.
One of my favorite Christmas movies of all time is How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. I could honestly quote that movie all season long and even after that. So, when I saw Peachcait over on Instagram created a look inspired by the movie in an ornament, I knew I had to do my own version of it. While hers is half of her face, I kept mine as added detail to the look. Mainly as I can’t wear colored contacts and I wanted to do something I little bit different. Check out her original version of the look as it is incredible!
An extremely talented makeup artist on Instagram named Drew (user handle of McDrew) turned herself into a Christmas tree for the holidays and I was totally inspired by her look and wanted to attempt recreating it myself. Totally go check out her original look as it’s incredible. She does a lot of these looks where products appear to go through her skin along with other incredible pieces.
I was really inspired by this look James Charles and Vanessa Davis did for the “launch” of the Morphe x James Charles mini palette. Which is basically the same palette just smaller. I got the original palette when it launched, moved and had to part ways with it due to size, then regretted that and my sister repurchased it for me as a moving in present (my sister comes up with a million reasons to get me makeup, I generally don’t ask her to but if I mention a palette looks cool and I can’t afford it, suddenly she surprises me with it. She’s the best, I love her to death). However, I recently got the Norvina Collection Volumes 1-3 and decided to use those instead to create my own version of this look.
I like to try out different foundations then get into moods where I wear one for several weeks before switching to another one. So it takes me quite a while to get through a single bottle of foundation. To a point where I start to forget how they stack up next to each other, so I thought I would do a massive comparison of all the ones that I keep in my collection. I’m going to do a similar ranking as I did in my Juvia’s Place palette comparisons where I’m going use a few different categories to determine which foundation is truly the best. The categories will be the following: wear time, finish, price, shade range, coverage, amount and applicator.
It’s Fourth of July in the United States so I thought I would do my makeup today inspired by the holiday. Hope everyone has a great day! I have one more post this week coming up on Saturday then I’ll be offline for the next week or so while I move. So see you all when I get back!
