Where I’ve Been Lately | Life Update June 2019

I haven't done a life update in quite some time, but considering I've been insanely busy to a point where I haven't been active on social media since April, I thought I might as well do one. Especially considering I might not be back to how things used to be until August. So this life update is probably going to be insanely short, as everything boils down to three things: work, moving, and mental health.…
View PostChina Updates Animal Testing Policy, Are They Cruelty Free Now?

Something that has been a buzz in the cruelty-free community within the last few days is the news that China has changed some laws regarding animal testing. Now the headlines are a bit deceptive as they make it sound like they are ending the laws that require animal testing on cosmetics. Which unfortunately is not true. They have however made some progress but it’s not to a level where if any brand that sells in China is now suddenly cruelty free. So, I thought since we’re all about cruelty-free cosmetics here on my blog I would go over what exact those changes are and what it all means.…
View PostSmall Changes I’m Trying To Do in 2019

Maybe it's the approaching Spring season, but I felt like changing up some things in my life. Sometimes in the past if I put it out into the universe it made me more motivated to actually do those things. While other times it had the complete opposite effect. Not sure which will be the true statement at the moment, but we shall find out within the next month or so if I stick to it. So what are these relatively small changes that I'm making?…
View PostThis is Fine…

I haven't done an update post in ages and honestly I've written then deleted similar posts countless times now. But considering I'm posting way less than I normally do, I'm going to do a stream of consciousness where I just write everything that comes into my mind and no editing out my thoughts. And the reason I haven't posted this is mainly I wasn't sure how it would go over. Since a lot of it is related to mental health and work, and neither are really things I talk about on this blog. I've done a few posts on my mental health but absolutely nothing other than a mention on my about page when it comes to work.…

I just finished my second bottle of Halo Beauty Hair, Nails, and Skin Boosters, it's been about sixty days since I started using this product. View PostBlog Updates & Changes

This month I decided to take some risks and I was terrified multiple times for blog posts to go live. The first, was introducing the new photography style which I want to get a tablet to allow me to do more doodles and whatnot on photos. The second, was my blogging confessions or mistakes that I made in the past as I know one item in there particularly is very polarizing in the community which I get 100%. But what's the point of sharing a blogging mistakes if I don't mention my biggest mistake/regret that I did, check out that post if you want to know what it was.…
View PostIntroducing the New Mae Polzine Blog

Back in 2015 when I first started blogging, I had one blog where I talked about just anything I wanted to from video games to beauty. Then in 2016, I removed video game type posts from maepolzine.com and moved it to its own blog that I was sharing with my then-roommate. Over the course of the year and a half that blog existed, a lot changed from the name to how focused I was on it. It got to a point on each blog where I was constantly wondering "what next." I was splitting my attention so much it was becoming hard to keep up with both. Or I didn't want to write on one for days while the other one I had loads of ideas. To a point where I wasn't putting out good quality of either since I was just posting things to post things though they weren't the quality I wanted them to be.…
View PostTwitch vs. YouTube for Gaming

If you are a Dragonite over on YouTube, you'll know that for the past few months I've been uploading almost every weekday some type of gaming video. But over the past three months or so, I've kind of lost my motivation to upload to that platform in general. Almost every video is flagged as not "advertiser friendly" though it fits into the guidelines right as my channel finally is getting some views and engagement. Which sucks. Just cause I don't make enough money or living off of YouTube, seeing that on every video is quite a de-motivation. It started out with every build/buy with the classic Sims soundtrack being flagged as copyright so I couldn't do CAS (Create-a-Sim) or build videos that aren't speed builds with different track over-laid. It just got more and more annoying. And now every video that I want to upload on Skyrim, Dragon Age, or something that involves even the littlest violence is flagged. And these are my favorite games to play, so I had to really debate on what to do.…
