Hey Howl Pack

It’s Mae Polzine! I started this blog back in 2015 to be a place where I could be creative and share things that I love. So, I post a variety of things. I stream a variety of things (gaming, body paint, art, etc.) on Twitch multiple times a week, with stream highlights and all VODs posted on my YouTube Channel.

Lastly, join our Discord to chat with other pack members. We have a great and supportive community over there. I love talking with everyone in Discord as it’s a great way to connect. Also, I offer Twitch emotes, sub badges, and moreover on my shop page as well as my own merch.

The Pop Culture Download #2: Toy Story 4, Music, and More

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope everyone’s week was nice and somewhat stress free. Instead of breaking everything out into sections this week I’m just going to share everything I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to lately. Not sure what next week’s post is going to look like as that’s moving week… so I might skip that one considering I’m not sure what the story with internet is going to be quite yet. Hopefully I get it in right away. If not, I’ll have posts up the following week once everything is a little more settled.

The Pop Culture Download #1: The Mortal Instruments, Hogwarts Mystery, The Sims 4 Island Living, and More

This is going to be a new series here on the blog where I share what I’ve been enjoying the past week. From books I’ve been reading, new blogs I’ve discovered, music I’ve been listening to, or new YouTube channels that I have started watching… and more. I plan on doing these every Saturday.

Things Beauty Gurus Do That I No Longer Agree With

I love watching beauty gurus and makeup tutorials on YouTube. It gives you a good idea how products perform before they come out since most of the gurus get them in advance. However, there are a few things that they do that I no longer enjoy or agree with. Nothing against any guru in particular, but just general things that I avoid. Doesn’t mean I’m going to stop watching them, but those videos in particular I do not click on anymore.

Monochrome Muted/Dusty Pink Get Ready With Me

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately trying to decide what I was going to do next. As I don’t really have the money to buy new makeup products to review or try out while I’m living at my mom’s house waiting for my lease to run out at my previous place. And after watching several Glam & Gore and Kelly Eden videos, it dawned on me that I should just do makeup tutorials or “Get Ready With Me” style videos. You don’t see a whole lot of those these days on YouTube and I used to love watching them. So that’s exactly what I’m going to start doing more of on my main channel. Just filming myself do my makeup and then doing a voice-over later. I fine that to be the easiest way to do them without the video turning out to be like an hour long.

Twitch vs. YouTube for Gaming

If you are a Dragonite over on YouTube, you’ll know that for the past few months I’ve been uploading almost every weekday some type of gaming video. But over the past three months or so, I’ve kind of lost my motivation to upload to that platform in general. Almost every video is flagged as not “advertiser friendly” though it fits into the guidelines right as my channel finally is getting some views and engagement. Which sucks. Just cause I don’t make enough money or living off of YouTube, seeing that on every video is quite a de-motivation. It started out with every build/buy with the classic Sims soundtrack being flagged as copyright so I couldn’t do CAS (Create-a-Sim) or build videos that aren’t speed builds with different track over-laid. It just got more and more annoying. And now every video that I want to upload on Skyrim, Dragon Age, or something that involves even the littlest violence is flagged. And these are my favorite games to play, so I had to really debate on what to do.

One Brand Tutorial & First Impressions: e.l.f.

I’ve had a lot of e.l.f. products in my makeup collection for ages that I’ve never touched. So I wanted to see if any of it was actually good and donate the rest. So this is a mixture of first impressions and just a tutorial overall. Some products definitely made the cut while others are going off to new homes. I had to seriously cut down the video too as it was an hour worth of footage. So hope you all enjoy!
