Continuing on with the Juvia’s Place palettes, the next one I have to play around with is The Masquerade Palette. Now I didn’t get the usual Juvia’s Place size but rather the mini version (which is the typical eyeshadow pan size) as that’s what was available at Ulta. Typically in a Juvia’s Place palettes they are usually either super colorful or the shades typical consumers go for. This palette is the combination of those two worlds with half being colorful and the other half being neutral. The Masquerade palette was inspired by African festivals and the costumes worn during those festivals. While the neutrals represent the African soil and environments.

As I mentioned in my previous Juvia’s Place review I’m not going to do a deep dive anymore in the performance as they have all been the same but here is the quick summary: the metallics are like butter, the mattes are extremely pigmented without being patchy, and it all blends out seamlessly. This palette costs $20 on Ulta and claims to have 0.84 oz of product per pan for a total of 2.03 oz or 57.6 grams. You can get the full size on Juvia’s Place Website for $30. Like other Juvia’s Place palettes this has a vegan formula meaning it may cause some staining on your skin due to the lake dyes used.

1. Galaxy Halo

The first look of three that I created was using primarily the bold shades in the palette. I started out with Bori all over the crease (and if you are wondering that area was stained at the end of the day after removing my makeup). Then I layered up the crease with Zobo. Next I took Makeda in the inner and outer corner to create a halo effect. After I took some Dalia to continue into the center using Makeda on the other side of my brush to make the transition smoother. Then I took some Zola to the dead center of the lid. To add a little more pop I added Giza and used that shade as well to highlight the brow bone and inner corner of my eyes. For my lower lash line I took a combination of Makeda and Chi. I paired the look with Jeffree Star velour liquid lipstick in Watermelon Soda. As for the name of the look, Cleia (alwayscleia) named it over on Instagram when I shared it on my feed. Thanks for the name!

2. Hidden Gem

This look I decided to take inspired from the neutral tones and the phrase “diamond in the rough”. So I did this hidden gem look. I did pull in some ColourPop Jelly Much shadows to do the graphic details but for the most part it was created using the Masquerade Palette. I did like five looks overlaid until I got to the final product. So as for steps to create this honestly I’m not even sure what would be the correct steps to get back to recreating this look. So instead I’m just going to list the shadows I used from the palette: Giza, Burkina, Cairo, Ada, Dahia, Zulu, Casablanca, Fulani, Calabar, Mali, and Zola. So basically all of the neutrals then used a mixture of Mali and Zola for a pop of color in the lower lash line. To carry that tone to my lids so it didn’t look out of place, I used ColourPop Jelly Much Shadows in Foxes (gold) and Bungalow (teal). Then I popped on Azeredo Cosmetics Lashes in Irresistible.

3. Jeweled Blue

For this look, I used a combination of cairo and ada into the crease. Then in the outer corner I used fulani. Next I took the gorgeous zola to the outer corner then dalia to the center of the lid. Then in the inner corner I used giza. To continue my lower lash line I used more ada then the inner half of the lower lash line I took some more dalia to pull the look together. I put on some Ardell Natural Demi 120 Lashes to complete the look.
