The Read-Cap: Week of April 27, 2024

This week was filled with new releases. And of course, it was all things I really wanted to read so I kind of started reading everything at once. There were just too many choices! So, some things on this list I started but will finish next week or the week after as literally everything came out at the same time. If you are new to the Read-Cap this a weekly post I’m doing where I share what I’ve been reading in the last week and what I plan on reading next. If I finish a book and decide not to do a full post reviewing the book then I’ll just share my general thoughts in one paragraph here.

Before I get into everything that I’ve read and planning on reading, if there are any books available on Kindle Unlimited at the time of posting this, I will mark those books with a ♥ next to the title. So, if you have a subscription you know what’s available to read on there.

What Did I Read This Week?

1. Long Live (The Elementals of Iona, Book 1) by V.B. Lacey ♥
   • I started this but did not finish, I kind of got side tracked by other books but I will finish this book at some point in the near future. Though it might be awhile before I get back to this book as there are several that kind of jumped the line and I really want to read those right away.
2. A Rivalry of Hearts (Fae Flings and Corset Strings, Book 1) by Tessonja Odette
   • Check out the link above for my thoughts on this book. It doesn’t come out officially until June but I seriously loved it. Thanks Tessonja for the ARC!
3. Restless Stars (Zodiac Academy, Book 9) by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti ♥
   • The final book in the Zodiac Academy series. Check out the link above for my thoughts on this series. I didn’t do an individual book review for each book in this series, but rather shared my overall thoughts. I have not finished this book yet as the final book in the series is massive, but so far my thoughts on it reflect what’s already in that series review.

What I’m Planning on Reading Next?

• Puck Block (Bexley U, Book 3) by SJ Sylvis ♥
• Till Death (The Never Sky Series, Book 1) by Miranda Lyn ♥
• Long Live (The Elementals of Iona, Book 1) by V.B. Lacey ♥

Of course, this is subject to change since I generally read based on mood. But right now, this is what I’m planning on reading. However, I might pull something off my ‘Reading Docket’ instead.

What’s on the docket:

This a library on my GoodReads that I try to keep updated as I purchase books and download things on Kindle Unlimited. If a book is part of a series, only the next book I have not read is included in this list. So, that way it doesn’t look overwhelming to me. But you can add all released books alongside the one mentioned here, as I will be reading those immediately afterwards in most cases.
