I haven’t done a post like this since March, while there have been new releases since then there wasn’t a lot to the point where I felt inclined to write a post like this. But in June there are five books that I’m looking forward to coming out this month. Of course, there will be other books that I will be reading as well. Most of which will be off Kindle Unlimited, got to get my money’s worth out of that subscription. Which never seems to be an issue, since I signed up for it.

I have these in order of release dates, not the level of excitement I have regarding the releases. Some of them I am more excited about than others, but I do plan on reading all of these during the course of June. I have all of them pre-ordered at this time, either for a paperback copy or Kindle version.

1. A Game of Retribution (Hades Saga, Book 2) by Scarlett St. Clair

Release Date: May 31, 2022

Though this book is technically releasing in May, I’m including it in this list as I’ll likely not get to it until June. This book is the counterpart to A Touch of Ruin, which I’m really curious to read since there was a large portion of time when Hades and Persephone were fighting or separated. So, I want to know what was going on with Hades during this time period, and what was going through his head when he turned down Persephone on healing her best friend after an accident.

2. Daisy’s Decision (Icehome, Book 16) by Ruby Dixon

Release Date: June 4, 2022

I have read every single book in both the Icehome, Ice Planet Barbarians, and most of the extended universe, so I’m looking forward to the next entry which is focusing on Daisy. Someone who has lived a very pampered life, and learned of the ice planet then decided to move there with the hope of finding a soulmate/resonance. Only it hasn’t happened in the three years she’s been there, nor has she really integrated with the society. She doesn’t hunt, she doesn’t make the clothing, she doesn’t food, and she doesn’t do anything but watch over the children. So, I’m excited to see her character development.

It’s going to be between Daisy and O’Jek, which I’m not surprised about considering it was hinted at the end of Sam’s Secret. And based on the snippet that was posted on Ruby Dixon’s Facebook page, O’Jek is going to take Daisy as a pleasure mate provided that she learns to hunt, fish, skin, and make fire. Basically learn to take care of herself, and only then will they approach Veronica to see if they can force resonance between the two of them. I have a feeling that the last part won’t happen, but I’m curious to see how it will play out.

3. Wicked Beauty (Dark Olympus, Book 3) by Katee Roberts

Release Date: June 7, 2022

I forgot about this book getting launched in June. So, I’m adding it to the list. This book takes place in the Dark Olympus universe, which is a connected series of standalone books loosely connected as characters from one tale appear in the next. Though you don’t necessarily have to read the others to understand what is happening, it does help. Wicked Beauty is going to follow Helen Kasios, the sister of the current Zeus. The story is inspired by the tale of Helen of Troy, Achilles, and Patroclus, though considering the main characters I don’t think it’s going to follow the events of Helen’s life that led to the Trojan War. Instead, Helen is trying to take control of her life by preventing her brother from giving her hand away in marriage by joining a competition where she gets help from Achilles and Patroclus. Sounds like it might turn out to be a polyamorous relationship between the three characters, but we shall see.

4. Black Rose Fae by T. H. Hann

Release Date: June 16, 2022

This is a book I saw on TikTok, I saw a few quotes from the author and it sounded interesting. From the brief description on Amazon, and what I saw on TikTok, this book is going to be about an individual (the last black rose fae) whose family was killed by the white rose fae and then was forced to live in their king’s court. She decides to assassinate one of the princes and ends up gaining the attention of three. Which sounds like the setup for a reverse harem. So, this book has been on my TBR since then. It’s going to be available on Kindle Unlimited. This is also the author’s first published novel.

5. Glow (The Plated Prisoner Series, Book 4) by Raven Kennedy

Release Date: June 18, 2022

Glow is the fourth book in The Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy. There is only one more book that’s going to be after this one if I saw correctly. I’m curious how this will stretch out two more books.

Spoiler: Midas was killed off in the last book and Auren and Slade seem to have a clear path forward for their relationship.

Of course, I’m sure that’s going to be an issue that’s brought up. Two Kings were killed at the end of the book, and I doubt the other monarchs are going to be fine with that. But how that will shape the series going forward I’m not sure. I literally have no guesses on what’s going to happen, but I’m excited to see what does. I especially want to learn what’s going to happen with Auren now that her ribbons were cut off by Midas.

6. Arrows and Apologies (Monsters & Muses, Book 4) by Sav R. Miller

Release Date: June 28, 2022

I enjoyed the previous books in this series. I knew this one was going to be about the mayor of the island since that was hinted at in the previous novel. Who, if I remember right, is going to be running for Senator. We know that the Wolfe this story focuses on is bisexual, but it will be a male/female novel inspired by the mythology of Apollo and Daphne. I do not know how this is going to turn out, since that one does not have a happy ending. Daphne turns into a tree trying to avoid Apollo’s advances. So, I’ll be curious how that plays out in this book.

What books coming out in the next month are you looking forward to reading?
