Appreciating the Small Things

I found this idea on From Roses, and considering the state of the world I thought it was a cute, light-hearted thing to write about. Since I haven't been wearing any makeup or trying anything new, which is why my blog has been lacking these types of posts lately. And I've almost exclusively been playing Animal Crossing New Horizons when I'm not working. …
View PostHow I’m Handling Lock Down and Passing the Time

2020 has been long and we're only three months in... it feels like a year has already happened since 2019. Right now the world is basically in lock down, to stop the spread of COVID-19... my state is just in a recommended self-isolation but there isn't any strict enforcement of this. Though I'm a homebody, and used to think of myself as a bit of a hermit (or that I'd be fine with little to no contact). It's hard not to feel off about the current situation. And honestly, I’m having a little bit of a tough time working out what my new normal is.…
View PostCariPRO Electric Toothbrush by Smile Brilliant Review & Giveaway | AD

Smile Brilliant has asked to partner with me again to review their CariPRO Ultrasonic Electric Toothbrush. Which if you've been following me on Twitter or Instagram, you'll know this last month I've been heavily focused on my 2020 goal of finally addressing my teeth. I ended up getting all my wisdom teeth removed and I have a lot of other work that still needs to be done. So, when Smile Brilliant asked if they could send their electric toothbrush to me in exchange for a review I was all for it, since I was recommended by my new dentist to switch to this style.…
View PostI Let an Amazon Personal Shopper from Prime Wardrobe Style Me

I've tried personal shoppers before (mainly StitchFix) and generally didn't find the experience for me. The pieces were way out of my usual price range and I only ended up keeping one or two pieces. Either because those were the only ones I could afford, or were the only ones that I actually liked. So, after seeing both Safiya Nygaard and LaurDIY both try Amazon Personal Shopper, I thought I would give it a go myself.…
View PostMy Essentials for Working From Home

For the last week, I've been working from home for work. So far, I've been loving it. I am a service manager for a company that works with hospitals around the world on various cloud platform software. I've been at this company for years, and used to work every day in downtown Minneapolis. Until the company decided to redo things, and sent pretty much everyone home to work with a small office still in downtown Minneapolis that we can work at from time to time. I have yet to go in there, but if I do they allow dogs. So, I might at some point bring her with me down there. I'm not sure yet. But anyways, I wanted to go over my essentials for when I'm working from home.…
View PostMy Reverse Bucket List

This is an idea I got from Jen, where instead of discussing things you want to accomplish in your life, you look back at the things you've managed to check off already. I keep this list for myself so I can remember how far I've come over the years. And thought it would be fun to share it with you guys.…
View PostHabits I Want to Start and Stop in 2020

I shared my main goals for the year already on the blog, but I thought I would go over some habits that I want to stop myself from doing and some that I want to start doing to help overall improve myself. Last year was learning to be comfortable in my skin and regaining independence. So, 2020 I want to be a year of growth now that I've achieved those two things. In order to do so, as I said some habits need to change.…
View PostMaking An Advent Calendar For My Dog, Pixie Bug

'Tis the season for Advent Calendars. I didn't any for myself this year, but after seeing videos from Nicol Concilio and Jenna Marbles where they made ones for their dogs, I decided make one as well. Only mine also includes a "treat" for myself, that being starburst that I still had from Halloween. I had a lot of fun making it.…

The Christmas cheer is just kicking off and a lot of places around Minnesota have month long celebrations. From magical shop fronts to decorative light displays, there's always something to go see. I've round up some of those places so if you're in town or decide to visit you can find something to see or do.…
